Twenty years of Eventonline: two decades of Champions League in the MICE sector

Twenty
years
of
entrepreneurship:
romance
versus
reality

Twenty years of entrepreneurship. It sounds almost romantic, but anyone who runs a business knows that it is mainly a long series of choices that you have to make every year. Eventonline blew out twenty candles in 2025, or in other words: two decades of operating at the highest level in a sector that evolves faster than a peloton uphill.

Move
with
the
times
or
disappear:
growing
in
a
sector
in
full
sprint

And that growth? It required the necessary adjustments: to the market, the opportunities, and our customers. Twenty years ago, there was only one brand: Eventonline. Today, MICE Magazine and Venues Online stand alongside it. In 2015, SEMINDEX also came under our wing. Growth was never a plan for 'later on', but the result of consistently taking the right steps, even when the market shifted or the digital world took a new sprint.

Staying
relevant
for
twenty
years
is
no
coincidence

The evolution of online marketing has exploded over the past twenty years. And we have exploded along with it, but in a positive sense. I like to compare it to the Champions League: not only playing in the final every year, but also winning it. That's what you need to stay relevant for twenty years as a relatively small player.

2025 was a milestone. I didn't want to let those twenty years pass by unnoticed. Two decades... that means something. So, at the end of 2023, I started writing a concept that eventually became MICETROS.

MICETROS:
a
milestone,
not
an
event

MICETROS was not an experiment but a tour de force: a gala evening with more than 500 attendees, a mix of customers, corporates and partners together under one roof. On the menu: a fully customised musical and a refined gala dinner in honour of twenty years of Eventonline. The organisation was in the experienced hands of KonseptS, led by Sophie Naze, who perfected the evening down to the smallest details. It was not just an event, but a milestone: a celebration of our past and the starting point for our next chapter.

Investing
in
innovation
as
a
second
lung

We also launched three new websites. This investment of more than €100,000 was anything but obvious for an SME in our sector, but it was a clear statement. We worked with Volta again on the design. In September 2025, Eventonline, Venues Online and MICE Magazine went live in their new form. For us, innovation is not an extra: it is a second lung. Without oxygen, there can be no growth.

Trust,
continuity
and
international
recognition

2025 was also the year of new clients in every category of the MICE sector. It remains special when international brands such as Radisson or Corinthia contact us first to launch their new venue. But just as important are the many clients from all other segments who choose us because trust and continuity are not promises here, but results. Twenty years of building a brand that still has so much traction... that remains unique. And we are rightly proud of that!

From
platform
to
fully-fledged
communications
agency

And then 2026 will be knocking on the door. Our calendar is already full in January and February: campaigns, video marketing, podcasts, digital newsletters, content projects, etc. Eventonline has since grown into a fully-fledged communications agency for the sector, and we are resolutely continuing along that path. We continue to build on a strong mix of content and advertising, incoming traffic and outgoing communication. It is these last two pillars that support, strengthen and grow every brand we work with.

What
will
2026
bring?
The
trends
that
matter

The MICE sector is undergoing another major update. These are the shifts we are seeing and are already responding to:

  • Hyper-personalised content co-created with AI
  • On-site real-time short-form video (content ready for social media within two hours)
  • First-party data as the foundation for every marketing strategy
  • Zero-party engagement to increase real lead quality
  • Podcasts as a fixture in B2B communication
  • SEO and structured data becoming even more decisive for online visibility
  • International brand expansions through niche positioning
  • Conversational interfaces such as ChatGPT becoming the standard in customer communication

2026 is shaping up to be a year in which we raise the bar once again. We never wait for trends to become mainstream, because we are already on board before they even have a name. Twenty years in the arena have taught us one thing: relevance is not a tradition, it is a choice you make every day.
And with the same energy that has propelled us forward for twenty years, we are now setting course for the next twenty!
