With a surface area of 25,000 m2, 30 rooms and a capacity of 2,500 guests, the Elisabeth Center Antwerp is a world-class player.
The architectural firm Ian Simpson from Manchester designed the complex and unique concept and entered into an extensive collaboration with Kirkegaard Associates from Chicago and Bureau Bouwtechniek. Kirkegaard is a world authority in the field of acoustics. Ian Simpson's team created an inspiring, flexible and powerful building with a lot of attention to energy saving and natural light. The building will be bright and elegant, a symbol of the city and a source of inspiration for everyone. The existing historical building will be connected with ultramodern architecture, a landmark in urban renewal. The international profile of the city will be lifted to a higher level.
The centrally located Elisabeth Hall with its 2,000 seats is the icing on the cake here. A keynote speaker in the afternoon and enjoy a symphonic concert in the evening? No problem. "We bring the historical setting of Antwerp ZOO together with this state-of-the-art venue", says Anja Stas, Chief Commercial Officer of ECA. “A unique combination that will inspire guests. Before an intensive day, go jogging in the ZOO or treat your guests to a dinner in our historic Aquarium? It is all possible.
