“Caving” @ Steinlein grot

The ideal mix of sportsmanship, adventure and wonder.

The Outsider Ardennes has its own initiation cave called “Steinlein”. This allows us to keep the maximum number of visitors per day well under control, as well as ensure nature conservation. As the bats hibernate in our cave during the winter months, Steinlein is not accessible during the winter period.

During caving, we crawl through corridors and crevices. Led by our professional guide, you will be guided along, equipped with a helmet and headlamp.

Together, we discover the underground halls with impressive stalagmites and stalactites and enjoy the immense silence that reigns in the cave. This activity is extremely suitable for people who have never done caving before.

It is 13 degrees in the cave, a welcome “refreshing” temperature during the hot summer months.

The tasks are of a challenging level, but certainly suitable for people who have never done such outdoor activities before. Our activities are always accompanied by one of our professional monitors and are always there to help when things get more difficult or when someone needs help.

Young & old will enjoy this. Individuals can buy tickets online and drop by during opening hours, groups can book by mail & if desired, come and discover one or more activities outside opening hours.

Be sure to check out our other activities. More information via www.theoutsiderardennes.be
