Erik Wood, CEO of Eventonline, was recently invited for a tour at the construction site of the new ‘Park Inn Brussels Airport Hotel’. Afterwards he had a chat with Tineke de Wit, formerly the General Manager of the Park Inn by Radisson Leuven Hotel and currently the GM of the new Park Inn by Radisson Brussels Airport Hotel.
The new hotel has definitely a very strategic location nearby Brussels Airport and all major companies in the area. “The hotel will be equipped with 162 rooms, 9 meeting rooms, a crew lounge, a fitness room and infrared sauna,” says Tineke de Wit. “We will open our doors very soon, i.e. in the spring of 2017.”
The theme for this Park Inn site will be ‘Explore and Discover. “We are keen to offer a product where people can meet, where they can explore new business opportunities and learn all about Belgium at the same time. So, it’s a very broad spectrum,” says the General Manager. The whole design of the hotel will reflect the theme of ‘Explore and Discover’ throughout. “We work with natural colors and materials, lots of wood and greenery to have a natural feel and fresh look.”
The hotel has 3 terraces. On the ground floor where the main entrance is located, there are 9 meeting rooms and a large pre-functional space. One meeting room is equipped with a private terrace and pre-functional space, so guests can go outside to get some fresh air during a meeting break. On the first floor the guests may find the check-in and reception desk along with the lobby lounge. “This space is called the ‘Live Inn Room’, a space where people, just like in their living room at home, can talk, play cards but also can close business deals. In short, it’s a multifunctional space where people feel at ease,” says Tineke de Wit.
As a genuine Airport Hotel, the Park Inn also offers additional services. There is a shuttle service provided from and to the airport, but also a ‘crew lounge’ aimed at airlines as well as a complimentary access to brand new fitness equipements and an infrared sauna. “We have a great complementary offer,” adds the General Manager. “In our restaurant, the RBG concept of Park Inn by Radisson, we are serving freshly prepared dishes which will savor to all world travelers. Our guests can watch our chefs preparing the meals in the open kitchen in the Live Inn Room.”
The Brussels Airport Hotel is the 5th Park Inn by Radisson which opens in Belgium. Later this year, another Park Inn by Radisson will open in Hasselt.

Het nieuwe hotel heeft ongetwijfeld een zeer strategische locatie, dichtbij de luchthaven van Zaventem en de grote bedrijven uit de omgeving. “Het wordt een hotel met 162 kamers, 9 vergaderzalen, een crew lounge, een fitnessruimte, infraroodsauna”, stelt Tineke de Wit . “We openen de deuren zeer binnenkort, met name het voorjaar van 2017.” Erik Wood, CEO van Eventonline, kreeg onlangs een rondleiding op de bouwwerf van het nieuwe ‘Park Inn by Radisson Brussels Airport Hotel’. Achteraf had hij hierover een gesprek met Tineke de Wit, tot voor kort General Manager van het Park Inn Hotel in Leuven en vanaf heden de GM die de nieuwe Park Inn by Radisson Brussels Airport zal leiden.
Als thema voor deze Park Inn vestiging werd toepasselijk gekozen voor ‘Explore and Discover’. “Wij willen immers een product aanbieden waar mensen elkaar kunnen ontmoeten, waar ze nieuwe business opportuniteiten kunnen ontdekken, België leren kennen. Dus een heel breed spectrum”, aldus de General Manager. Het hele hotel is ook zo ontworpen dat dit thema terugkomt. “We werken met natuurkleuren en –materialen, veel hout en groen om het natuurlijk te houden en een frisse look te geven.”
Het hotel telt drie terrassen. Op de begane grond waar de hoofdingang is, zijn er negen vergaderzalen en een grote pre-functionele ruimte. Eén zaal heeft een terras, net als de pre-functionele ruimte zodat de gasten even naar buiten kunnen om een luchtje te scheppen. Op de eerste verdieping bevindt zich de check-in en onthaalbalie, met een lobby lounge. “Deze ruimte noemen wij de ‘Live Inn Room’, een ruimte waar mensen net als thuis in de woonkamer kunnen kaarten, praten, business deals sluiten, kortom een multifunctionele ruimte waar mensen zich op hun gemak voelen”, stelt Tineke de Wit.
Als heus Airport hotel, biedt deze Park Inn ook extra diensten. Zo is er een shuttle service van en naar de luchthaven voorzien, maar ook een ‘crew lounge’ gericht op de luchtvaartmaatschappijen, sportfaciliteiten en infraroodsauna. “We hebben een leuk complementair aanbod”, aldus de General Manager. “In ons restaurant, het RBG-concept van Park Inn, worden frisse versbereide gerechten aangeboden die bij alle wereldreizigers in de smaak zullen vallen. Onze gasten kunnen in de ‘Live Inn Room’ de maaltijden zien bereiden in de open keuken.”
Met het Brussels Airport Hotel is dit de 5de Park Inn by Radisson die de deuren opent in België. Later op het jaar volgt er nog een Park Inn by Radisson in Hasselt.
