Ghent Marriott renews and expands and IBTM World is the ideal place to announce these changes to the world. The hotel also celebrates its tenth anniversary in 2017. “We can not silently pass this up,” said Annabelle Stevens, Account Manager of Ghent Marriott Hotel. “That’s why we proudly announce here at IBTM that we are going to open a new restaurant: ‘Midtown Grill’, a high-end steakhouse. With this restaurant we want to put us even more explicitly on the map and also make the link with the US.”
Concurrently, renovation works will also take place in the hotel. “We are completely refurbishing our lobby whereto the breakfast location will move so that it is more enjoyable for large groups when lunching there.”
2017 is also a special year for the merging between Marriott and Starwood Hotels, as it will be further implemented. “We are proud of this merger. In Ghent, there are no Starwood Hotels. We are the only hotel in the group there. We hope that in 2017 we can welcome more Starwood guests in Ghent. We position ourselves as a prestige hotel in the city and we definitely plan to continue to do so especially with all planned renovations. After all, we want to be and stay a trendsetter,” added Annabelle Stevens.

Het hotel viert bovendien zijn tienjarig bestaan in 2017. “Dat kunnen we niet ongemerkt laten voorbij gaan”, aldus Annabelle Stevens, Accountmanager van Ghent Marriott Hotel. “Vandaar dat we hier trots aankondigen dat we een nieuw restaurant gaan openen: ‘Midtown Grill’, een high-end steakhouse. Daarmee willen we ons nog wat meer op de kaart zetten en tevens de link leggen met de VS.”
Tezelfdertijd zullen er ook verbouwingswerken plaatsvinden in het hotel. “We gaan onze lobby volledig renoveren waarbij de ontbijtlocatie verhuist naar de lobby zodat die nog aangenamer wordt voor grote groepen die er komen lunchen.”
2017 wordt tevens een bijzonder jaar want de merging tussen Marriott en Starwood Hotels gaat nog meer doorgevoerd worden. “We zijn daar trots op en daarom zetten we dat ook wat extra in de kijker. In Gent zijn er momenteel geen Starwood Hotels. Wij zijn het enige hotel van de keten. We hopen dan ook dat we in 2017 meer Starwood gasten mogen verwelkomen in Gent. We blijven ons profileren als prestige hotel in de stad en we zijn zeker van plan om die lijn door te trekken met alle vernieuwingen. Immers, we willen de trendsetter zijn en blijven”, aldus nog Annabelle Stevens.
