The Glorious restaurant and wine bar is an informal, casual but classy meeting place that adds zest and a touch of hipness to Antwerp’s Zuid district. Since 2014, it has had one Michelin star. 

Johan Van Raes offers a contemporary version of classic tasteful cuisine, taking a product-driven approach in which seasonal ingredients guarantee optimal taste and quality. His characteristic, attractively garnished dishes are described by critics as refined and harmonious. The owner and host, internationally renowned sommelier Jurgen Lijcops, has a superb selection of affordable wines – some unfamiliar, some well-known – that will please everyone. 

For some time Jurgen Lijcops has also been active as a producer of traditionally distilled organic gin and vermouth, which he uses among other purposes to create highly sophisticated cocktails. In short, gourmets, connoisseurs and epicureans will find The Glorious very much to their liking with its personal and unique repertoire of dishes and drinks. On the ground floor, you can eat at tables or at the counter in the cosmopolitan and eclectic interior, while the upstairs with its half-open kitchen also offers possibilities for larger groups.

On sunny days you can dine al fresco. You can also spend a peaceful and comfortable night at this versatile restaurant and wine bar: the second floor has two suites of 45m2 each, while the third floor consists of a single suite of an impressive 90 m2.
